Found the Museum and had a quick look round just before it closed. They had an interesting display of 'Fashion' which was composed of a few choice garments, looking as though they'd been begged/borrowed/stolen and a short explanation of when they'd be purchased and what event they'd been worn to. The best description was about a collar. The person explained that during the war, she been desperate to find a blouse to go with a plain black skirt she owned. Not being able to find one she liked/could afford, she'd ended up wearing her pyjama top back to front and sewing on the collar - I would have loved to have seen a photo!!
